Of Assorted Thoughts and Stuff

I don't want to use the term "random" due to the fact that it has become an overrated word used for blogs. Just let me use "assorted" instead. So yeah, this post is going to be about different things running in my head. My mind is not in its proper state to elaborate on a single subject, as of the moment. My blogger-rific train of thought is currently unavailable. I'm kind of lost, because of my blogger's block that caused my week-long hiatus. I'm done with my explanation, let us now proceed to what I have to share:

This is how happy I am. My ghosts came out.

• Last week was my first week to be out of school! It feels really great not having to worry about academic matters. Well, I'm not done with my thesis yet, but my adviser told me that it only needs some minor revisions. I can't wait to wrap it up. I can't wait to say "I'm all set and ready to march this April 2012!"

• I'm planning to go with my sister Janine on their Arts and Society class' trip to Camiguin this February 2012. I miss that paradise a great deal! I wanna bathe in Sto. Nino Cold Spring, Katibawasan Falls and Arden Hot Spring one more time. I'll try to persuade my parents if they could grant me that wish. I'm crossing my fingers!

• This is one of the TV series I've been watching lately alongside The Lying Game, New Girl, Community, Pretty Little Liars and Breaking Bad. I like it because it involves teens and magic, but I can't say that I'm into it. This show's Pilot episode is a little off for me. Some acts and lines were corny and cliche, but I can forgo them and still give TSC a chance. I'm still on the 4th episode.

• Someone's been sending me group messages, and I kind of feel really annoyed. Why should she have to broadcast what she's doing through SMS. Duh, like we care! I hope this girl finds it in her heart that group texts are already obsolete. Why can't she post it on Facebook or Twitter instead of sending it one by one to all her phone book contacts.

According to their Multiply, most of their prices range from 80-250. Elegantly cheap, eh? I'm gonna grab some for sure.

Based on the VAGUE title, what do you think this entry will be about? Kidding aside. This post will pay tribute to the new additions in my wardrobe. I have to say that I am already beginning to be deeply enamored by accessories, and I’m glad to tell you that my collection is slowly growing bigger. Yey for that! I simply can’t help but be captivated by those fine-looking pieces that can certainly give an edge or accent to any ensemble.

I won’t cease from hoarding those gorgeous blings until I get satisfied with what I have which is quite impossible, in human nature. I have been raving about anything with feathers lately. I realized that they really have this stunning feminine vibe. And again, Laureen Uy is my influence when it comes to that stuff. I will do my best to get those colorful and fascinating must-haves from Extreme Finds! I badly want to rock my outfit with those irresistible eye candies. I’ve talked about them a lot here in my blog, and I still don’t have any of their items. They’re a bit pricey, so I guess it’s high time for me to SAVE, SAVE and SAVE! I said the word three times in all caps and bold font for emphasis.

Just as I was browsing Laureen’s blog, I found another Filipino online shop that offers chic yet very affordable fashion jewelry. And hey, they ship internationally! Bollywood Fashion

Fashion is one of  the things that I just can't last a day without. I feel quite uncomfortable whenever I don't get to dress up. That's one of the reasons why I hate PE. I don't like wearing shirt and jogging pants. I go all the rage when it comes to fashion. I love New York fashion, Korean Fashion, Philippine Fashion, Vintage Fashion and whatnot. The catch is that I don't have all kinds of outfit to support my sense of style. I don't have a wardrobe empire, but hey, that's not what fashion is all about right? Fashion minus style is nothing. As someone says it, someone with style doesn't need fashion. But of course, who would say no to a good number of fashion finds? I still don't have that much possessions yet, but I believe I'll get there someday. God willing! I'll be a good girl from here on out, I promise. Giggles!

Thoughts about Bollywood Fashion has been clouding my right side of the brain lately. According to Aparna Chandra, Bollywood is definitely one of the largest fashion guider as a vast majority of public is influenced by Bollywood trends such as clothes, jewelry and so forth. I totally have a special liking towards Bollywood Fashion. My fetish for it began last year when I bought an Indian-inspired skirt from a vintage shop. I wore it once in one of my outfit posts before. I still don't want to wear it again, because it's one of my special pieces in my very limited closet. Just in case you want to take a look at my Bollywood get up, here it is.

Ehow Style teaches us girls on how to dress up like a Bollywood star. The things we need are:

• Jeans
• Button-down shirt
• Sunglasses
• Watch
• Gel
• Sari blouse
• Sari petticoat

• Bindi forehead jewel
• Sandals

These are the helpful tips I've gathered from them. I'm not in the mood to paraphrase now, so let me just quote what eHow said.

• Prepare to show some skin - Wear a cropped, fitted, belly exposing top with a low neckline that displays your décolletage in it's best light. As always, a push-up bra is a great idea. Pair the top with a long, ankle-length flowy skirt made out of silk or a material with some kind of brocade on it and you're good to go.
  

• Wear bright colors and jewel tones - Bollywood is all about vibrant, beautiful colors that stand out. Bollywood outfits are not only colorful, they also frequently combine primary colors like red and green, along with a metallic accent of gold, silver or bronze.
  

• Display your hair - If you have long straight hair, you're good to go as is. Give yourself a hot oil hair treatment the night before, wash your hair the day of the party, blow your hair out and you're good to go. If you have short hair, consider a hair accessories that will let you create a mini up-do and then do focus your attention on your make-up and accessories

• Highlight your eyes and wear a bindi - Use black eye-liner along your top as well as bottom lid and smudge with dark shadow to blend. Don't forget black mascara to lengthen your lashes and make your eyes the focus of attention. 
  

• Bring out the bling - Bring out your chunkiest and most glamorous costume jewelry because a Bollywood party is the place to wear it. Jewelry is key in Bollywood so pile on the necklaces, bangles and earrings - you can't go overboard.

A Place to Call My Own

Ms. Zahara and Lavinia took this test at Style Maker Visual Quiz from Stylish Home wherein you get to figure out what's the style that belongs to your dream home. I got all curious about it, so I decided to get my own details as well. The result says that I most resemble an "Old Money Extravagance" just like Winston Churchill, Anthony Hopkins and Greta Garbo. I don't have any idea about those last two people but basing on the sound of their name, I guess my style would probably be like that of those archaic era. The result is credible, actually. Here are the details on my fancied sanctuary:

Just like Lav, I also desire to have my own huge library. I got the idea from the movie Beauty and the Beast. The Beast's library was so huge it dropped my jaw! As what Marcus Tullius Cicero said, "A home without books is a body without soul." Some other areas I want to build inside my future home are:

• A music room with various kinds of musical instruments.
• A walk-in closet for my future fashion collections.
• An entertainment room separate from the living room.
• An area for some chit chat moments with my family and friends.
• A photo shoot are for my shutterbug moments.
• A mini-coffee shop and WiFi area for my online activities.
• A "food trip" area for my gastronomic pleasure, aside from the kitchen.
• A prayer room for my solitary moments with God.

I must admit that I really have that vintage (I don't want to call it oldies) preference on things. I am more of the Neo-Gothic architecture. I've once taken a quiz like this on FB before which is also about my dream house, and the result was a Victorian House. See what I mean? I think I can bear living in the historical period. I just love everything with details, especially that of sophistication. That holds true even in my outfit. I remember my drawings of houses before, they were always highly-decorative. Those fairy tales I've been watching in my childhood years must've influenced me  big time.

GT: Techie Talk

I’m finally part of the GT loop. Welcome me with open arms, folks. I know I’m already four topics late, but there’s no harm about that, right girlfriends? I’m still groping on how I can connect with other girls who are into GT, so that they would also know my ideas on a given topic. But, that’s not a big problem to fret about. I know my girls will help me out.

This week’s topic is technology, which is actually my blind spot. I don’t fancy any other thingamajigs aside from camera. I’ve mentioned in my wish list before that I badly want to a DSLR camera, but until now I still don’t have one. I’m a shutterbug, but I don’t own a camera. It’s like being a warrior without a sword – having the skill without the equipment.

Hopefully, I can get hold of the desire of my heart this year. I’ve been pestering my father to buy me one, and he said he will give me what I want before graduation. I still have to wait a little longer, but it’s just OK. I have to be patient, because my favor’s not very easy to get. Cross fingers for the arrival of the photography buff’s best friend! Promises are NOT made to be broken, right Papa?

Going back to techie talk, there’s this camera that has been making me drool to death for months already. I know we can’t afford to purchase those luxurious stuffs, so I always go for the more affordable ones. I don’t usually dwell too much on the things that are quite impossible for us to reach. In that case, I think it’ll just be fine if I dream on having this not-so-expensive entry-level DSLR cam – the Nikon D3000.

The downside of this camera is that it can only take pictures but not videos, but I don't mind. Photography is my thing, not video documentation.

I even told my Mom, “It’s ok if you don’t give me new clothes, new shoes, or whatever. A camera is all I want for now.” I sound too desperate, right? I hope that desperation I got there will still pay off in the end. I’m just LOL-ing around, Mom!

Dorothy Perkins Fever

The dress is the most important item in a girl's wardrobe. I'm a girl, however I don't have a good number of skirts and dresses to support my kind of style. I guess that makes me Little-Miss-Fashion-Backward. I have to upgrade my closet with lots and lots of it. What triggered this desire was what I saw while I was browsing my Facebook's News Feed.
