Before anything else, let me just say that I love all the shots my sister Janine took for this outfit. They’re all very nice, well, at least for me. She really knows my best angles, and I love her for that. Thank you so much sissy! I would post them all here, but there are 35 beautiful photos just for this look. That’d be exhausting, right? I’d bore you if I do so.

Color-popping is in for this season, and I love red a great deal so I thought of making it pop in this achromatic get-up. Red is a very vibrant and stimulating color so I decided to rock my red belt, red velvet tassel dangle from FashionConvict Online Shop and my red Bourjois rouge a levres to add a hint of radiance in my neutral clothes.

I sported this ensemble during my little sister Mikee’s elementary graduation. The sun was so high that day, but I didn’t mind the heat because I know we’d be heading straight to the mall afterwards. I’m aware that this is not summer appropriate because of the dark black and gray hues, but I beg you to spare me of your judgment. LOL!

We went to SM City right after the program to purchase my parents’ gift for Mikee, and to have lunch at Pancake House as requested by the graduate herself. I guess I’ll just have to save that appetizing experience for another blog entry. I’ll talk about it on my food blog series (Gastronomy) soon. Sorry to cut the story short for now, lovelies.

Child’s Play: Amidst the Horror

Before anything else, I just would like to say that I’m using Windows Live Writer for the first time on this post, because Blogger’s not getting its act together. I couldn't post photos and all. Darn!

So, anyway…

School outfit for August 17, 2011. I have loved tucking in my tops lately. It looks so 80s, and for me it's edgy. It makes a simple getup look smart casual. I guess I'm just a huge lover of anything that's classic. ‘Nuff said. The theme for this amateur fashion shoot is obviously, Amidst the Horror. It’s actually because of the place I chose for the said pictorial. It was held at an abandoned plaza nearby our school canteen and clinic. There were huge and terrible-looking trees all over, but honestly, I wasn’t horrified at all. Without further ado, here are the shots…

Gratitude to Janice for patiently doing the  fashion photography for me. I was wearing my Dorothy Perkins top, Jag jeans, Parisian shoes, Issac bucket bag, thrifted bangles and other accessories from England. Can you feel the creepiness of our setting? I also went to McDonald’s MTS later that day to meet my good old friend, Maean. We talked about a business she was offering me to grab.

And by the way, I’m really enjoying Windows Live Writer. My blogging habit has never been this fun. The best thing I like about it is that, I can edit and add a watermark to my blog photos. I have to say WLW has it all! I suggest you try it yourself to see how cool it is. I’m lost for words on how to describe it for now. Honestly, I’m not comfortable baring my skin that’s why I’m not fond of wearing anything that’s skimpy. For me it’s one way of attracting negative vibe from the opposite sex. It also somehow promotes rude stares from others since the legs, which is one of the most eye-catching parts of a lady, is being exposed. I get on the edge when I’m being glared at. That’s quite ironic for someone who has a huge thing about dressing up. Fashion nowadays has become one way of trying to stand out. I love glamming up, but I’m contended at just being a wall flower. Being invisible is fun! I’m weird, throw rocks at me! But of course, our confidence level gets high sometimes, thus the donning of something out of our comfort zone.

I know I still look like a fashion backward old maiden with that outfit, but at least I managed to show a little skin without getting too conscious. I’m proud of myself, because I’m no longer as conservative as before. ’Nuff said. Now, let me share you the short story behind this ensemble. I had a hard time mixing and matching this getup. I was supposed to wear the top with black shorts to match their black details, but I couldn’t find the latter. I didn’t have time to rummage our tiny closet, because I was rushing for school. So to solve the dilemma, I borrowed my Mom’s skin tone tube undergarment to match with the cream pants, brown bag and flats. Voila! I ditched the black and floral style concept that instant.

Well, yes I did get some malicious gazes on the way but I perfectly know how to retaliate, and besides I know how to move in such a way that I won’t come off as someone who tempts. I dress and, of course, act with the way I want others to treat me. I can say with pride and delight that I’m a decent woman who just wants to explore her fashion ideas by sprucing up. In this outfit’s case, balancing is key. Cover up the upper part if you want a revealing bottom and vice versa, but remember not to expose the body that extreme. Looking like a bombshell is different from looking like a stripper! On that note, I just would like to tell you that we can dress out of our comfort zone, but definitely not out of the bounds. I've always loved the motocross sport, and that's exactly my inspiration on my outfit for today's episode of Child's Play. Let me be a racer's girl, just for now. What I like about this ensemble is that it screams fierce. It's not the usual meek me. That is why I love black! It makes my personality come out strong, although I'm not very sure about that. Does it? That DP top is one of my favorite chiffon tops ever, because of its ruffles and floral details. I've worn that for at least five times already. I have to make it rest for a long while, cause I don't want it get worn out that easily. Another thing is, I have to buy another set of accessories because I'm getting fed up with what I have.

Dorothy Perkins Fever

The dress is the most important item in a girl's wardrobe. I'm a girl, however I don't have a good number of skirts and dresses to support my kind of style. I guess that makes me Little-Miss-Fashion-Backward. I have to upgrade my closet with lots and lots of it. What triggered this desire was what I saw while I was browsing my Facebook's News Feed. My eyes widened with fascination when I noticed this post from Dorothy Perkins' Page. It's about their new collection called Little House. DP never fails to immensely catch my attention. I totally have my eyes for all these stuffs. I wish I get to have new DP items again. I'm oh-so-in-love with these cool things here. Check 'em out!

DOROTHY PERKINS TOPS

This is my Dorothy Perkins top collection. My top pick in this is my floral chiffon top I wore in the fourth picture above. I'm really wishing to have DP dresses, bags and shoes soon. God knows the desires of my heart. :-)

BELTS

I love belts, especially the ones with chis metallic details. My favorite among these is the pure gold belt (fourth one). I don't use it often, because I don't want to lose its bizarre characteristic.

A gift from Mom. This Victoria's Secret over-sized shoulder bag is one of my favorites because with it, I can carry all the things I need, since I'm like a Girl Scout -- Laging Handa at all times.

This is the SUNKISSED makeup collection. It makes you look tan by the name itself. I rarely use this though. What I like best here is the glitter powder. I got these all from England.

My lip care collection. I want to buy a new lip tint of different shade. Done with red. I want another one. Thinking of pink Revlon or Skin Food. What do you think?

These are tags from different clothes. It actually started when I couldn't find a bookmark for my the books I've read. I thought of using tags instead. From then on, I started collecting them. It's fun!
