Welcome Readers!

Welcome to the Mystic Blog of the only Mystic Nymph! I hope you have a blast reading my thoughts, and I hope you drop by again!

Marquee

I'll let you in a little revelation about my favorite usernames in my virtual sites. First is about my Mikimoto Angel pen name. Mikimoto is a famous brand of pearl accessories in America. I first saw that brand in Vogue Magazine. I got mesmerized by that label, and I thought of using it. I just added Angel from my name "Angela". Thus, the formation of Mikimoto Angel.

For my other pen name Mystic Nymph, the word mystic really came from the show Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog. I used to be so hooked to that show. I am also obsessed with mythologies, and nymphs are mythical creatures depicted as beautiful young women who are considered as guardians of objects and places in nature. Thus, the evolution of Mystic Nymph.

Day 5 - Things you want to say to an ex (30 Day Challenge)

Guess what, dude! I haven't been thinking about you for such a very long time already, but I dreamt of you the other night. That's just weird! I don't know how you sneaked into my subconscious state of mind. You wreaked havoc there. You did things that are just so troublesome. I don't want to talk about it. I want to tell you something else, since that's the task I have to accomplish for this blog challenge. I'm happy that I got better after our heart breaking split up. I'm ultimately happier now with my new life.

I know out break up didn't cause you as much pain as I felt, but it's all fine. I was just so young back then, and I still don't know how to control my emotions. It's embarrassing to realize how childish I was before when we were together, but after years of being away from you I realized that I was not totally in love with you. I was just crazy with the idea that I finally had my first boyfriend. Here are some of the things that have happened to me after you told me you wanted to walk alone without me. I thought you ought to know.
  • I met this man named Ciovic. He takes care of me, and I know he loves me more than I love him.
  • I'm no longer a cry baby. I can now control my feelings. I'm proud to say I'm no longer weak.
  • I've learned to love myself more than ever. I strive hard to make myself feel better all the time.
  • I got very devoted to those things that I love to do with the help of those people who hold me dear.
  • I am very near to reaching my life-long dreams. I know you've always wanted that for me.
I heard you've found the girl you want to marry, and I also heard that your Mom's cool about your relationship with her. I know it's quite impossible for you to stumble upon my blog, but I just want to say that I'm very happy for you. I hope you become a better partner with her this time. This sounds trite, but don't repeat the same mistake. Ok? You're not getting any younger, dude. You should be mature enough. Okay, let me cut this drama now. I hope you're happy for me as well. See you around, Gian.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules

Movie Poster courtesy of Google Images.
"Back in middle school after summer vacation, Greg Heffley and his older brother Rodrick must deal with their parents' misguided attempts to have them bond." - Internet Movie Database

I just watched this fun movie adaptation with my sisters yesterday, and I had definitely a good laugh. Greg's wit, and Rodrick's pranks made the film so hilarious. It's indeed a great comedy film for the whole family. I don't care if it got low ratings or whatsoever, all I know is that it's not a disappointing film. Well, I never thought it's a good one before until I saw the sequel. I thought that it's another boring movie for children, but I have to admit that I made a mistake on judging it without even watching it first. I've never seen the prequel yet, but I will look for a copy of it. That's for sure! I won't write a review about it, because I'm not that good at it. I also don't have enough time to think of perfect words to describe and summarize this film. Instead, I'm going to blog about those catchy and quotable quotes I got from here. Here we go:

"It’s about time little bro, that you learn the secrets to an easy life.
Rule Number 1 - Don’t be good at something that you don’t want to do.

Rule Number 2 - Always lower mom and dad’s expectations.

Don’t talk to anyone, don’t look at anyone.. don’t sit down." Rodrick Heffley
"One day I’ll be rich and famous. But for now, I’m stuck in middle school with a bunch of MORONS." - Greg Heffley

"For me to say for the record, the middle school is the dumbest idea ever invented." - Greg Heffley

(When Greg commented on how Rowley wore his back pack)

"Greg Heffley: Stop. You look like one of the seven dwarves. Always wear one strap. One strap is cool.

Rowley Jefferson: Then why do they put two straps instead of one?

Greg Heffley: Because the people who make backpacks aren’t cool.
Greg Heffley: You know what has one strap? Machine guns. You know what else? Electric guitars.
Greg Heffley: You know what else?
Rowley Jefferson: Purses?"

Those are just the quotes that I can recall. I also liked the completely honest part of Greg which actually didn't make her Mom happy despite her wanting for him to be truthful. That was one of the absurd parts of this movie. I love the part when Greg's grandfather hoped to have another great celebration for his next birthday, and Greg answered, "That is if you're still alive next year." Another one was when Mrs. Heffley's newspaper colleague called over the phone and she didn't want to answer it. She told Greg not to tell her friend that she's in the house, but Greg refused because that would be lying. Mrs. Heffley went outside looking in so Greg could tell her colleague that she's actually not IN the house. Great one, eh? I strongly suggest that you watch this movie. You will never regret allotting a few moments of your life for this.

Simple French 101

credits to: learn-french-in-france.us

Last night as I was blog-walking, I happened to stumble upon Manon's blog who is now my new blogger friend. It's written in French, but I could say I did understand a few words. Why? It's because I had the chance to study that language for one school year under Professor Maria Araceli Dans-Lee when I was still a freshman. That was four years ago. I haven't practiced it at all after I finished the course.

Some French statements I can remember are Je T'aime (I love you), S'il vous plait (If it pleases you), Excusez mois (Excuse me), Voulez vous coucher avec mois ce soir? (Would you like to sleep with me tonight?), Joyeux Noel (Merry Christmas), Bonne Anniversair (Happy Birthday) and a few other ones.

Here I'm going to let you read a French essay I've composed when I was still better at it a few years back. I assure you this was not formulated using the English to French Online Translator. Our teacher was strict. Okay, I'm done defending myself, so here's a little background about myself written in French. Don't worry I will be translating this later on. I apologize in advance for I am just a beginner. Spare me of your smirks and taunts just this once. LOL!

FRENCH

"Bonjour tout le monde! Je m'appelle Katrina Angela Castro. J'habite a Puan, Davao City. Je suis nee le huit de Juin mil neuf cent qatr vingt dix a General Santos City. Je n'ai pas freres et trois soeurs. Je parle Anglais et Je parle Francais aussi. Je suis un ami fidele. Vous pouvez compler sur moi.

J'aime la musique. Mais je prefere le rock. J'aime chanter. J'en fait le reve d'est avec une bande. Avec la musique, je ne creverai jamais d'ennui. Je deteste les sports. Je n'aime pas le que jeux qui fait me transpirent. J'aime massieds juste pendant qu'ecrivent quelques poemes.

Peutr-etre ils m'envient juste.

J'aime aller aux parcs de nature. Ces endroits me donnent la paix d'esprit. Un jour je veux avoir mon propre parc de nature.

J'espere que vous avez appris beaucoup de moi."

ENGLISH

"Hello everyone! My name is Katrina Angela Castro. I live in Puan, Davao City. I was born on the eighth of June 1990 in General Santos City. I do not have brothers, but I have three sisters. I speak English, and I speak French as well. I am a faithful friend. You can hang on to me.

I love music, but I prefer the rock. I love to sing along. In fact, I dream of being with a band. With the music, i never get bored. I hate sports. I do not like those games that make me sweat. I love writing poems instead.

I hate crowded areas. I would rather be alone. I have a friend. He makes me happy. I like being with him all the time. He is the man that I have always wanted. I want to marry him one day. I also like solving mysteries. It's cool.

I do not like anything that is liked by everyone. I hate it when people like what I like. But if I have a new friend, I also want us to be similar. I hate those people backstabbing. They are hypocrites calling me names. Perhaps they just envy me.

I like to go to nature parks. These places give me peace of mind. One day I want to have my own nature park.

I hope you learned a lot about me."

How I wish I could go to France so I can practice speaking this language of romance with conviction. Can somebody teach me for free?

Sorry for that lousy composition. That was four years ago, and I admit I was a bad writer that time. Although I still don't claim to be a good writer up until now. I still want to improve. I'd like to be better, and I believe it's never too late for that. Okay, that's it for my simple French 101.

Gastronomy: Breaking News for Zabbers

Davao City's number one Islamic Restaurant, Zabadani Cafe, has another great promo for every Zabber in town. They're offering Unlimited Pita Shateerah plus Bottomless Iced Tea for only 280php beginning June 6, 2011. That's definitely a good news especially for me. I love their Pita Shateerah big time! Now, who wants to come and dine with me? And oh, don't forget  their 4th Open House this coming June 24 at 9pm to 11pm. They are expected to serve sumptuous dishes such as Kefta Kebab, Beef Rendang, Shakshouka, Nutty Garlicy Rice, Chicken Biryani, Spicy Zabadani Coffee, Zabadani Pomegranate Juice and Yemeni Ginger Coffee. Too bad, I can't come. I'm pretty sure my Mom won't let me attend this because it's a night event. I hope I get to join this one heck of a gastronomic fun next year. God willing!

Mystique Shutterbug: Sight-Seeing

I'm still having blogger's block. Even the 30 Day Challenge didn't help me conquer it. But don't worry I will finish it, since I've already began doing it. I will not quit writing those tasks. It's just that, I'm not yet in the mood to think. My mind's still out there somewhere. I'm running out of words and thoughts to share. It's actually because I'm beginning to compose myself for another academic season (hopefully my last). I really hope and pray that I'll get back into doing what I love the most after this school jitters I'm feeling as of the moment. Good thing I have this blog series to help me deal with this darn writer's dilemma. It's again high time to bring out the photo freak in me by showing you these shots of good sights I've been to. Enjoy everyone!

I'm proud to say that the Philippines is definitely a good place for travel! No doubt about that. WOW Philippines indeed!

After graduation, I’m thinking of not settling down yet. It can wait. I certainly hope so. I’ll have at least four or five years of not being bogged down by children. That span of time is dedicated for my luxury and to be noble, preparation for a higher level maturity. I'll be in for everything I’m not doing and can’t be doing now. I think it’ll be the perfect time where everything I've always wanted can happen. Needless to say, I have to get a good job to get to that. Part of my plans is  to get my own car so I can go far and wide. Too ambitious of me to even think about it, eh? The best part is tripping all over the world. I have a lot of plans as you can see. I want to travel here, there and everywhere. I pray that the Almighty One will hear what my heart beats for.

MDM Cho-Cho Online Shop

My favorite photo of Rica.

Hello readers, I'd like you to meet my friend and former classmate, Enrica Maria Almendras Edralin. Please check out her online shop. She sells different products that are cheaper than mall prices through her public Facebook Account. They're 100% authentic. You can add her up, but be sure to leave her a message first especially if you want to order or inquire about an item. According to her, it will help her know whether one's just a hacker or a bogus buyer. Most importantly, do not reserve if you are not a sure buyer. I guess every online seller has that friendly reminder. Here are some of her recent available goodies:

All photos and information are courtesy of MDM Cho-Cho Online Shop. Rica also sells Victoria Secret Garden Mist, St. Dalfour Creams and Soaps, Skin Food Nail Polish, JBE & EOS Contact Lenses, brand new laptops & other gadgets of different brands, and some of her pre-loved things. That's how business-minded she is. She believes that in online selling and shopping, trust is the prime investment. She values her customers trust, and she asks for our trust in return. She used to sell food and load before, but she stopped because she got busy with other stuffs. I just ordered Top Tomato Revlon Ultimate Colorstay Lipcolor, and I pestered my blogger friend, Tessa into buying one as well. She got herself the Grand Garnet shade.

Some Random Possessions

I'm lost for words at the moment, but I badly want to update my blog. Have you felt that way before as well? It's like I want to say something, but I don't know what to say. Weird, eh? So to grant my desire of badly wanting to post something without forcing myself to think or speak, I've thought of posting some photos of my possessions. No, this is not my Mystique Shutterbug series. This is just a random blog entry.

World Cup Memorabilias from TESCO England.

My favorite tea brand. I love it so much!

Foot and Body Lotion plus Foot Polish all from The Body Shop.

Paganini Hair Care Collection.

Vintage bag my Mom bought for me.

One of my favorite blings. My Mom bought this from a thrift shop.

Katrina's Secret bag. I love this because of the brand.

Versus Red Jeans for Woman by Versace. I love this scent!

A few of my book collection. Wanna borrow some?

Willy Wonka's NERDS. This is my comfort candy!

My most favorite among all of these is the Paganini Hair Care Collection, because it was given to me as a Valentine gift from my boyfriend. I totally appreciate his effort on knowing what I really needed that time. My comb got broken so he gave me this set, instead of something that is not that beneficial for me. It's not expensive, but it's definitely of great value. What do you like most among those things I've posted?

PS: I wish I can get back to writing lengthier posts soon.

I Can See the Future

Check out these edited photos my sister did. These are inspired by Milo Ventimiglia's character in Heroes. He can see the future through his paintings, but that's not the only power he has. He basically can absorb all the abilities of every hero he stumbles upon. Thanks for these cool pics, Miss Red Mist.

I love editing photos. I think it's absolutely fun! But of course, the original look is still way much better. Oh I want to share you this cool site I found. You can turn your photos into cool looking vintage retro snap. Cool, eh? Pixlr's words not mine. You might want to try it out as well. Have fun editing!

Edited via Pixlr o-matic using the Melissa look.

Thanks for suggesting GIMP, Tessa. I'll give it a whirl one of these days!

Do you love editing photos too?

My Boring and Tiring Day

EDIT: I just uploaded this screen shot of my Online Registration showing that I'm about to complete the first step! I'm almost done.
Day 4: Bullet Your Whole Day (30 Day Challenge)

  • I woke up at around 6:30am. I usually get up during that time, because I hate oversleeping. It makes my head ache.

  • I ate breakfast -- fried sausage and chicken. I hated my breakfast routine today because I wasn't able to drink coffee.

  • I washed the dishes. I hate working on it at lunch time or dinner time, that's why I insist on doing it every morning.

  • I got myself ready to go to school for the dreaded enrollment. I wore my not-so-nice top, jeans, boho bag and glads.

  • I waited for my adviser so he could customize the subjects I want to enlist. I waited for almost an hour at the library.

  • Stuck in the first step of the enrollment process because of the delaying teacher's prerogative approval for our requests.

  • I had lunch alone at Ate Ling's. I ate my favorite fried chicken. I will never get tired of that viand. Good thing I'm not allergic.

  • I went to Kiosk (our school's internet cafe) to check my online registration. The faculty-in-charge still didn't approve my request.

  • The sun was scorching hot at 1:30 pm, and I really felt stinky. I got tired of waiting for nothing, so I decided to go home.

  • I bought load for our Smart Bro, so I can relieve my stress through web-surfing and blogging.

Child's Play: Racer's Girl

Blush on used as eyeliner - AVON
Lipstick - Rouge a Levres
Danglings - from England

Chiffon Top - Dorothy Perkins
Tank Top - Secret Possessions
Shorts - H&M
Gold Belt - Thai Brand (from England)
Boots - Le Donne
Bangle - Tiangge at CDO
I've always loved the motocross sport, and that's exactly my inspiration on my outfit for today's episode of Child's Play. Let me be a racer's girl, just for now. What I like about this ensemble is that it screams fierce. It's not the usual meek me. That is why I love black! It makes my personality come out strong, although I'm not very sure about that. Does it? That DP top is one of my favorite chiffon tops ever, because of its ruffles and floral details. I've worn that for at least five times already. I have to make it rest for a long while, cause I don't want it get worn out that easily. Another thing is, I have to buy another set of accessories because I'm getting fed up with what I have.
