I love Mediterranean and Middle-Eastern food more than Italian and French, mainly because of the challenging taste. Their unique cuisine names make food lovers go prying over them. They sound so interesting that you end up going crazy over them. My fondness for these kinds of cuisines all started with my sheer curiosity. I browse for different kinds of food in books, magazines and online journals. Just looking at them through photographs is totally not enough. Thanks to my friend, Jesse Pizzaro, for suggesting me this food joint I now consider as my favorite, Zabadani Cafe.
Zabadani is a city in southwestern Syria in the Rif Dimashq Governorate, close to the border with Lebanon (Wikipedia). Maybe that place is Mr. Wadilkhaery Ibn Mohammad Ali's inspiration in creating a Mindanao Syrian Cafe. What I love about Zabadani is that, they have the cheapest coffee in town. Their famous layered coffee Latte Macchiatti only costs 75-95, and mind you, the quality is OPTIMUM (as quoted from their Facbook Group Page). Delicious, I have to say!
The place is beautiful too! It's like you're just in your home, relaxing. There's privacy for everyone. Because everyone has their own business, you can even conduct a photo shoot there just like what we did (LOL)! Customers sit on carpeted platforms. There are pillows too, which means you can sleep there! I actually felt like I was in Syria (Although I've never been there) because of the interior designs. They're Muslim inspired. I really admire the creativity of Mr. Wadi! He's even hands-on with his business because he personally serves the food for the customers. Here are some of the photos I got when my school friends and I had a chance to hang out there.

That will never be my last time to drop by there. It's one of the best coffee shops in the city. It deserves not just a second shot, but A LOT of shots. And oh by the way, they have Buy 1 Take 1 Deals on some of the items on their menu every Wednesday from 2-5pm. I love ZABADANI CAFE! If you want to look at some photos we had there, here's my Multiply link:

Try dining at Zabadani Cafe. You will also have a blast for sure! It's located at Ponciano Street, Davao City near Tesoro's Printing Press. :-)
