Welcome Readers!

Welcome to the Mystic Blog of the only Mystic Nymph! I hope you have a blast reading my thoughts, and I hope you drop by again!

Marquee

I'll let you in a little revelation about my favorite usernames in my virtual sites. First is about my Mikimoto Angel pen name. Mikimoto is a famous brand of pearl accessories in America. I first saw that brand in Vogue Magazine. I got mesmerized by that label, and I thought of using it. I just added Angel from my name "Angela". Thus, the formation of Mikimoto Angel.

For my other pen name Mystic Nymph, the word mystic really came from the show Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog. I used to be so hooked to that show. I am also obsessed with mythologies, and nymphs are mythical creatures depicted as beautiful young women who are considered as guardians of objects and places in nature. Thus, the evolution of Mystic Nymph.

Mystique Shutterbug: Delish Stuff

Hail to the comeback of my long gone photo blog series!
Today’s episode will once again feature one of my greatest destressers – FOOD!
No less than my favorite hot dishes, desserts and beverages!
Less words, more pictures.
Aim, shoot and tell!

IMG_0043
Four-cheese Pizza
I get weak in the knees when it comes to cheese and pizza.

My Native Chicken Adobo
Adobo is one of the famous Philippine dishes. One taste, and you’re sure to ask for more!

Mom’s Clams Soup
I love the challenge shell dishes give me. We had this for lunch one Sunday.

Goldilocks’ Dark Chocolate Chips Muffin
I’m not much of a muffin fan, but this is a big exception. I die for anything chocolate!

My Beef Patty Garnished with White Onion & Tomato
To get rid of boredom, I decided to prepare something a little special for myself for lunch and snacks.

KFC’s Combo Meal Overload
This meal includes  1 piece of brownie, chicken, mushroom soup, mashed potato, soft drink and rice.

KFC’s Brownie and Spoonful
I forgot the flavor of this Spoonful, but I think it’s Tiramisu.

Classic Savory’s Combo Meal 3
I just can’t get enough of Classic Savory’s Chicken.

Ferrero Rocher Chocolates
Who won’t fall for these chocolate balls wrapped in gold? I’m melting.

Mini Toblerone

Cadbury, 100 Grand and Butterfinger

Twix Cookie Bar & Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups

Noir Dark Chocolate
I’ve been spending quality time with chocolates lately. Need I say more?

 Magnum Classic Ice Cream
Of late, this is the Philippines’ newest addition to its dessert market and the most hyped ice cream in the country. Filipinos are all the rage over this smooth vanilla ice cream covered in thick Belgian chocolate.
Now, I just jumped in the bandwagon. I haven’t tried other flavors though, but they say Magnum Truffle tastes divine.

360 Degrees’ Milk Green Tea
Meet my favorite tea beverage that is proudly Davao-based. I go loco for any drink with tapioca! Try their Red and Green Milk Tea. You’ll never regret it!

Save More’s Garden Fresh Salad
I love having raw vegetable salads, not only because of the health benefits; but simply because of the crisp as well! Lettuce, carrots and corn for a nutritious snack.

Red heartSmileRed heart
Don’t you just love rewarding yourself with your much-loved treats
when you feel knocked down with stress?
Food is definitely one of the best ways to cope with any bad vibes.
‘Til next time shutterbugs!
It’s a wrap!

I'm 21 And Loving It

NOTE: I posted this last month June 9, 2011. I don't know why the post date moved to July 7, 2011. Blogger's acting weird all over again.

It's my second day of being an adult. I'm finally 21! Honestly I feel happy reaching this age, because that would mean I'm already very near to my dreams! My gratitude goes out to all those who greeted me via Facebook, Twitter and SMS. I feel so overwhelmed reading your messages. I also want to thank my mother for making my birthday special despite some monetary constraints we're having. I know you have a lot of concerns in mind, but you still managed to make me happy. Thank you for the undying love, Mama! I want to thank my God, most especially, for giving me another year to live. I hope I can fulfill all my duties as His follower. I know He is always there to guide me all the way.

Mom treated me and my sisters at Pizza Hut in SM last night for a little celebration. Papa wasn't able to come with us because of work, and it was also his boss' birthday. He was invited, I think. We took only a few shots because Mom doesn't like photo sessions when dining. It's kind of rude to do that, but that's what bloggers fondly do. Right? Also, I want to apologize for the noisy texture of these photos. I just used my sister's 2.2 MP Nokia ExpressMusic cellphone. Here are our pictures:

Gray is the new black: Thanks for this pair of Chelsea flats, Mom!

We ordered Cream of Mushroom Soup, Combo Platter, Cheesy Sausage Pops, Lasagna and Bolognese with Meat Balls. As usual, everything doesn't look just as good as they were in the Menu. Pictures indeed are deceiving. I enjoyed the meal, except for the coffee flavored bolognese. It didn't please my appetite at all. Sorry Pizza Hut, but I suggest you have to work on your red sauced pastas. I've tried it a number of times already, and they're just not good as what I expect. It's a cliche, but I know there's always room for improvement. And oh, I also bought my much loved Willy Wonka (Nerds, Runts and Gobstopper) candies at Candy Store. Hello again, tooth ache! I couldn't find the regular and large boxes of Nerds even at the Dep't Store and Supermarket. They only have the mini Nerds. Why's that?

Again, thank you all for greeting me! They made me very happy! I know it was just online, but I really appreciate it that you exerted effort on typing the words, "Happy Birthday Kat!" :-)

Weekend Food Trip

Not the actual photos.

It seemed like my stomach became a food dump site this weekend. I devoured a lot of delicious temptations. I hope it could help me gain pounds. My Body Mass Index (BMI) has been telling me that I'm underweight for the longest time, and I'm more than willing to change that. Thanks to Papa for bringing home lots of goodies from Cagayan de Oro, and to my mother for treating us out again. As much as I'd like to show you photos of my food trip, I didn't bother taking shots anymore. Let me just enumerate them if you don't mind.

Sler's Chicharon (Cracklings)
Missy BonBon Buns
Missy BonBon Banana Cake
Vjandep's Pastel (Yema-filled Bun)
7 Cheese Pizza (Greenwich)
Big Time Meal D (Greenwich)
Sandwich w/ my new fave choco spread, Nutella

These yummy stuffs travelled mercilessly from their point of origin to my mouth. Food, by all means, makes me melt! I love good food especially, and I eat by heart. I find solace through it. With just a taste of my favorite meal, all the traces of bad vibes die out instantly. My weekend foodtrip gave me a pleasant perk enough to tame down my constantly craving appetite until my next chow adventure. For now, I'll have to let my palate rest. I spoiled it big time the past week. It's high time to step out of my comfort zone again by indulging myself with scholastic burdens, er I mean, duties.

How did you spend your weekend, folks?

Food Coma at Picobello and Zabadani

If somebody has to ask me when did I start appreciating student life, I would say.. in high school. Nothing compares to the memories I had in that stage. It was a great ride. Full of moments and memories that enliven my heart and mind. High school is such a bliss, of course with a few spices to make it more remarkable.

Whenever I'm with my high school friends, I really get a wonderful time. They never fail to put a curve on my face. If someone cracks the corniest of jokes, everybody still bursts into laughter. They truly make me sane and insane at the same time. These moments of innocent fun can never be traded with anything else. Incomparable, I should say.

Each of them has their own place in my heart. If only I could give them all a tribute just to show how much they mean to me. This scribbled thoughts is not enough to show how much they mean to me. My actions may not disclose how I feel for them, but at least I could say that through my words, I truthfully say, they can count on me.

When I was in my freshmen year, I remember those two school organizations I took part into. It was in The Reflector (Official school paper) and Young Einsteins Science Club. I also became a member of the Parliamentary Procedure Team, but in sophomore I got booted out. Maybe they forgot I was part of them.

In those clubs, I met many friends. Those who are still my true friends up to now are one of them. We had camps and trainings then, and I always wanted to go back to those times. I love those kind of fun. I miss it that much.

Two weeks ago, I met up with Regine and Lerr. They were two of my most loved high school best friends. We had a smashing gastronomic blast at Picobello Italian Restaurant and Zabadani Cafe. Food trip is really fun, especially with the most important people in your life.

We were supposed to eat at Zabadani Cafe first, but they open at 5pm during Fridays to make way for their prayer. We didn't know that. We headed at Picobello instead. I actually don't like the place cause it's too crowded. I prefer private restaurants. But I have to say that their pizzas taste good. We went there at 3pm so we still had a chance to avail their Buy 1 Take 1 Pizza deal. We only have to pay for the highest-priced pizza that we ordered.

Anyway, here are our photos:

Menu.

Pizza fun at Picobello Italian Restaurant.

Quattro Satagioni Pizza (P305)

Con Salsiccie (P275) -- Not sure with the price.

It's Regine and Lerr's first time to dine at Zabadani.

Orders: Lerr - Dajaj Kebab; Regine - Qatayaf; Mine - Pita Shateerah.

Zabadani is the place to beat!

My outfit: Vintage Long Vest, Dorothy Perkins Pink Tube Top, Plains and Prints Skirt, Parisian flats, Bag and accessories (except bangle) from England.

Mr. Wadi offered to take a picture of us. Regine was supposed to have a picture with him, but he said it's forbidden in Islam. Why?

Ms. Tessa (blogmate) was waiting for a ride outside Zab (I think). Glad to finally meet you.

Food coma indeed! More photos in my Multiply. We were the first customers of Zabadani that day. I'm amazed with Sir Wadi, cause he personally cleaned the place. He's so hands-on with his business. I admire his passion to work. We also witnessed them perform an Islamic prayer for 15 minutes.

Til our next food trip bonding friends! :-)
