Welcome Readers!

Welcome to the Mystic Blog of the only Mystic Nymph! I hope you have a blast reading my thoughts, and I hope you drop by again!

Marquee

I'll let you in a little revelation about my favorite usernames in my virtual sites. First is about my Mikimoto Angel pen name. Mikimoto is a famous brand of pearl accessories in America. I first saw that brand in Vogue Magazine. I got mesmerized by that label, and I thought of using it. I just added Angel from my name "Angela". Thus, the formation of Mikimoto Angel.

For my other pen name Mystic Nymph, the word mystic really came from the show Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog. I used to be so hooked to that show. I am also obsessed with mythologies, and nymphs are mythical creatures depicted as beautiful young women who are considered as guardians of objects and places in nature. Thus, the evolution of Mystic Nymph.

Messy Curls

I'm currently obsessed to watching beauty tutorials on YouTube, and I can't help but be blown away by Chriselle Lim's wardrobe, Michelle Phan and her sister Promise Phan's make-up, and Daven Mayeda's hairstyle tips. Subscribe to their videos, and you'll be amazed at how you can transform yourself worry-free. How I wish I could be as skillfully artsy as them, but I still have to save for more doll-up weapons.

Anyway, yesterday boredom got the better of me at home so I decided to practice glamorizing myself without the assistance of others. I just simply curled my short hair, and I was somehow happy with the result; because I felt like I've improved. I felt like I got better than the last time I did this. That's the way to do it, right? Compete with yourself, and not with others. I hope next time I get to paint makeup on my face independently.

Here are my photos...

Lipcolor - Lintheric's Loganberry Moisturizing Lipstick
Lip Gloss - Victoria Secret's Beauty Rush
Feather Dangle - Modisch
Top - Celine

I used the vintage Clairol's Lock 'n Roll curlers to achieve this messy look. It's an old model, and I don't know if you're still familiar with it. My Aunt who lives in England gave it to me two years ago, because she knows that I love to perk up myself a lot. This product is a bit hassle to use, because I still have to pre-heat the stylers for 20-30 minutes. For extra curls, I twisted the sections of my hair into a spiral before rolling.

Do you wanna know my faults during this process? I didn't spritz a light holding product (hairspray, gel or what-have-you) over my hair after rolling. I also removed the stylers after ten minutes because of my excitement. They're supposed to stay in place for 15-45 minutes. BTW, Daven Mayeda has an easy way of curling hair without heat. Next time, I have to follow instructions. It's still not perfect, but I love it. How do you like it, pretty dolls?
