Welcome Readers!

Welcome to the Mystic Blog of the only Mystic Nymph! I hope you have a blast reading my thoughts, and I hope you drop by again!

I'll let you in a little revelation about my favorite usernames in my virtual sites. First is about my Mikimoto Angel pen name. Mikimoto is a famous brand of pearl accessories in America. I first saw that brand in Vogue Magazine. I got mesmerized by that label, and I thought of using it. I just added Angel from my name "Angela". Thus, the formation of Mikimoto Angel.

For my other pen name Mystic Nymph, the word mystic really came from the show Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog. I used to be so hooked to that show. I am also obsessed with mythologies, and nymphs are mythical creatures depicted as beautiful young women who are considered as guardians of objects and places in nature. Thus, the evolution of Mystic Nymph.

Mama Bet's Cook Book Episode 1

This is my mother posing for Mystic Nymph. She's wearing her vintage gypsy top, Herbench pants, CT Walk sandals and F&F bag.

Today, I'll introduce you to a new bait here in my niche called Mama Bet's Cook Book. Pardon me for having that very artistic title, I could die. If you have better name ideas, feel free to tap me. I'm just a comment and e-mail away. A'right? As I mentioned in my latest post for Gastronomy, I thought of creating another array of food posts that will feature my Mom's  specialty dishes. Now I'm finally actualizing what I had in mind. Just for the record, this will be my ninth blog series and there's still another one coming up called Cosmopolite, which will be under the fashion category. But before I officially kick off this series, let me tell you some things about my dear mother.

She's Emilie Cruz Castro. She's already on the golden age of her existence here on Earth. She's turning  51 on the 17th of October. Everyone calls her by her nick, Bebet. She's the other half of Franco Castro also known as Bebot. Noticed their name's phonemic similarities. It's amazing, isn't it? She's a mother of four Marias. Three are already in college, and the other one is still in elementary. She does her daily grind as a government employee in the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG XI). She manages to balance her career and family life as evenly as she could. She never gives up on anything, especially on us. I can say that she is really a tough woman. I want to be just like her.

My mother and I have a lot of differences, but I love her despite of that. I'm also quite sure that she loves me no matter what. I don't want others to put her down. She deserves more.. like this piece dedicated to her. I wish to write more about her, but my mind is still very chaotic right now. I guess I just have to save those beautiful things about my Mom for another post, maybe on her birthday. I hope by that time, I've already found the perfect words to describe her interesting and genuine personality. In other news, she's baking one Chocolate Mousse and one Brownies, as of the moment. I can smell the cake in the turbo wafting all over our house. I can't wait to gobble all those sweets up.

Here's a crappy picture of her delicious brownies that almost made me faint. She baked this two days ago.

I will not be posting the instructions, because my mother might not like it that I'm divulging her techniques. But anyway, she made use of the following main ingredients:

Arm & Hammer Pure Baking Soda
Magnolia DariCreme Classic
Choice All Purpose Flour
Nestle All Purpose Cream
NECo Imitation Flavored Vanilla
Hershey's Cocoa Natural Unsweetened
or..
Bensdorp Real Dutch Cocoa
Dutche Butter Sweet Chocolate Bar (for ganaching)
and..
some other ingredients

I brought a slice of it at school and shared it with my friend Janice. She said it's so divine. I say it's heavenly! I'm happy because she said it tastes way better than that of Goldilock's. I'm very proud of my mother. Congratulations! Watch for more of her recipes here on her virtual cook book. Much love!
