Welcome Readers!

Welcome to the Mystic Blog of the only Mystic Nymph! I hope you have a blast reading my thoughts, and I hope you drop by again!

I'll let you in a little revelation about my favorite usernames in my virtual sites. First is about my Mikimoto Angel pen name. Mikimoto is a famous brand of pearl accessories in America. I first saw that brand in Vogue Magazine. I got mesmerized by that label, and I thought of using it. I just added Angel from my name "Angela". Thus, the formation of Mikimoto Angel.

For my other pen name Mystic Nymph, the word mystic really came from the show Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog. I used to be so hooked to that show. I am also obsessed with mythologies, and nymphs are mythical creatures depicted as beautiful young women who are considered as guardians of objects and places in nature. Thus, the evolution of Mystic Nymph.

Hitting the Sack

"Ang pagtulog ay kapareho ng bagong lutong pudding sa aming kaharian." - Prince Mackaroo

For the past days, I've been wide awake until past 12 in the midnight. I was still up when everybody's already dozing off. I'm actually not used to sleeping that late, but my thesis manuscript got me busy and stressed. I had to work on it as fast as I could, cause tomorrow is the schedule of my Plenary. I had to do my best to prevent my eyes from drooping shut, because in times like this, sleeping seems to be a waste of time. Darn! I felt guilty saying that. It's a wrong notion. We all know the importance of sleep, right? I realized with a sinking heart that it's my fault that I din't have enough rest for days. I just took my two weeks wroth of preparation for granted, and now I'm cramming.

I badly miss hugging my pillows tight for, like eight hours and more. I want to end this semester this instant! I desire to go to bed without thinking of scholastic matters even for a month or two. Next semester is going to be tougher, for sure! So, I have to gain more sleep this summer as much as possible. I have to get myself revved up to jumpstart my academic mood for the last 18 units of my student life. That statement just elevated the thrill I'm feeling. I can't wait to finally bid farewell to UP Mindanao.

Since I've already been talking about the suspension of consciousness (sleep in other words), I want to show these pictures of creatures close to me while they're getting their precious shut-eye moments. I haven't noticed that I actually have a lot of them, until I checked my photo archives just now. I wasn't aware that my hands have this automatic activity to click the camera, whenever I see people enjoying their deepest slumber. So, here are some of them:

My sister, Janine, didn't have any idea that I took a picture of her while she was sleeping.

Taken using my photo buddy, Maxine's camera. She dozed off after recording her voice-over for our project.

My daughter, Jewel, has had enough of paper works. She couldn't take keeping her eyes open anymore.

My close friend Charina was the first one to sleep after a long trip from Philippine Eagle to Dayang Beach Resort.

My sister Miko was catching some zZz's while we were on our way to Sto. NiƱo Cold Spring during our Camiguin trip.

The pretty ladies of NSTP 2 took a rest after our team-building activity at Loleng's Mountain Spring Resort.

My cute kitten Caramel feeling so at home sleeping soundly in my bedroom. She's so cute. What a sight!

Let me share you this well-said piece about sleep. I got this from the Internet. This helped me realize that sleep should never be undermined.

"Sleep can be compared to quicksand, ignore it and you’ll find yourself trapped. It will take over you’re body and if you try to fight it, the more it wins. The effects of not receiving enough sleep are not uncommon. Sleep depravation has been used throughout history and is common as a form of torture in many POW camps (Victims of Sleep Depravation). Countries, including the United States have used this method to extract information from prisoners. It leaves no physical markings but its psychological effects can be very harmful. Victims will literally go crazy. Those who have gone through it say that no sleep is even worse than starvation." (Retrieved from: www.123helpme.com/preview.asp?id=86159)

"If there's anything better than sleeping at evening, it's waking up in the morning."
- Bill Barnacle (The Magic Pudding)

Don't let the bed bugs bite sleepy heads!

sarap naman ng tulog nila :D

I have no problem in sleeping late... because I can sleep at 7am! :D BUT, it reached to the point that I can't sleep even when I'm very sleepy. I don't know what's so appealing in sleeping late :D

Well, I guess you just have to motivate yourself to work on things faster so you can finish ahead. And, hapit naman sad bakasyon. konting tiis na lang :)

i'm sadly an insomniac and internet is to blame for it. i think the pc's radiation delays sleep. i don't know but i notice that every time i surf the internet and finish around 9pm, i only fall asleep by midnight.

it is adviced that if you want to sleep early, stay away from the tv or computer. I don't know but it really makes me sleep late.

@Tessa: Me too! Thanks for the info. :-)

Is there any story behind that you took the photos of the sleepy girls and posted them online? I wanted to tell you that the idea is not that bad overall. And if you want to sleep rather than work on your paper by yourself, go to special-essays.com and do not worry about it. Here is the coupon code you may check there g6oa39rW
